Landlord Safety Certificates (EICRs)
An Electrical Installation Condition Report, or EICR, is a formal check of the fixed electrical wiring in a property. It shows whether the installation is in a safe condition and highlights anything that needs attention.
We inspect and test the installation, then give you a clear report. If any work is needed, we explain what it is and why, and we can carry it out for you. Landlords and property owners often need up-to-date certificates, so we make the process as straightforward as we can.

An Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is a formal inspection and assessment of an electrical installation to determine its condition and identify any defects or potential safety concerns.
Yes. Private landlords in Scotland must ensure that the electrical installations in their properties are inspected and tested at the intervals required by Scottish repairing standard legislation and guidance.
If the inspection identifies defects requiring remedial work, SCE can explain the findings and provide a quotation for the necessary repairs. A satisfactory report may require the relevant defects to be corrected first.
The time and cost depend on the size of the property, the number of circuits, accessibility and the condition of the installation. SCE can provide a quote based on your property details.
